JAMAICA!

We spent a fantastic week in February in Treasure Beach, Jamaica. Treasure Beach, on the south coast of the island, is just a half hour drive from the farming community where Paul spent over two years in the Peace Corps, and was a regular weekend destination for him. Since we've been married, we'd already visited Jamaica three times, but this was Samantha's first time to the island (first time abroad!).

We were joined on the trip by Aunt Abby, and friend Carolyn, who were great travel mates and also lots of help with Sammy. The five of us spent the whole week at a great house on the beach in Treasure Beach. The house came with a pool, a huge outdoor shaded veranda, plenty of space for us to spread out, and even some wonderful meals prepared for us. We spent lots of relaxing time enjoying the sea, the pool, and the warm temperatures. We also took day trips to visit Paul's Peace Corps community, to swim at waterfalls, and to a great beachfront restaurant.

Other highlights included seeing a 9-foot crocodile (recently pulled from the nearby pond) on one of our early morning jogs, watching the sun rise with a sleepy Sam from our lounge chairs perched over the sea, full-moon yoga on the roof of the nearby Jake's Hotel spa, and watching Sam's extremely cautious approach to having bare feet in the sand (eventually bonding with it, but not exactly rolling in it).

There were many other highlights, and the photos below are just a few of the zillion we took on the trip!
